Chun-yu Bodies is based on the aesthetics of the pure and the desirable, translating them into a digital archive of 3D models consisting of full bodies, torsos, and individual anatomical fragments.

The virtual sculptures appear as polished, smooth surfaces devoid of expressive details, embodying the ideal of formal purity that historically corresponds to the neutralization of the female body, reduced to a passive and partial object. In this context, the concept of desirability coincides with the object’s availability for observation.

The archive adopts this visual logic but redirects it through the website’s interactive function. By offering users the ability to directly intervene on the 3D files through engravings, inscriptions, and digital marks, the presumed purity of the surfaces is overlaid by the layering of these contributions.

The dynamics of engagement do not negate the nature of Chunyu, but structurally transform it: the colorless surface and the dissected anatomy cease to be aesthetic standards of consumption and instead become the physical medium for a collective narrative.
